The nearly three-decade-long fight by the LTTE for a separate homeland for Tamils in Sri Lanka has come to end after the death of Tamil Tigers chief Velupillai Prabhakaran. Yet the world in general, and the Tamil community in particular has not understood the true nature of the so-called ‘Tamil struggle’ that Prabhakaran had initiated and was leading for nearly thirty years.
There are many clinching clues which all go to indicate that Prabhakaran’s ways were not in line with any struggle for honour of Sri Lankan Tamils or attempts at securing viable autonomy or independence for them.

It has been suspected for a long time that the powerful force behind the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) was the Catholic Church continuing with the Catholic Portuguese colonial traditions of atrocities and carnage that was led by this church in Sri Lanka.

Abrahamic religions and the violence, expansionism and advocacy of conversion are nothing that can be kept hidden or denied. “Spreading the Good” has led to purging of territories and their wealth and excommunicating natives and their unique cultures.Current fears associated with the repetition of past colonial crimes needs to be empathized in view of the objective of both Christianity and Islam competing for world hegemony. The Church is Christianity’s first soldier and it is becoming more and more evident that behind most terrorists’ activities the Abrahamic religions prevail. LTTE was simply a pawn of the Church to advance a Pan-Christian political agenda that aims to create a satellite Christian autonomous state out of Tamil Nadu and North Sri Lanka (in a Sudan style divide). LTTE’s demise does not mean that ambition is over.

The LTTE, the Sri Lankan ethnic Tamil separatist group that engaged in terrorist activities, was not a “Hindu group.” The tigers’ ideology on paper was mostly secular “Tamil nationalism”, but it also had anti-Hindu aspects to it such as its members shunning their given Sanskritic Hindu names to assume “native Tamil” (or Christian) ones, eg, Prabhakaran became Pirapaharan in later years.
One of the best kept secrets is that the LTTE had many ties to the Church. For example, most of the top cadre of the LTTE were apparently Christians:
Prabhakaran aka Pirapaharan (Christian convert, a lapsed Methodist)
S.P. Tamil Selvam – Christian
Balraj (Balasegaram Kandiah) – Christian
Pottu Amman (Christian)
Prabhakaran’s son Charles Anthony – Christian
Anton Balasingham – Christian
Soosai (Thillaiyampalam Sivanesan) – Christian
Thenmozhi Rajaratnam (nickname Dhanu), Rajiv Gandhi’s suicide bomber assassin – Christian
While the LTTE’s terrorist methods should be squarely condemned, one cannot lose sight of the fact that the Sinhalese majority was egregiously persecuting their Sri Lankan Tamil minorities since the country became independent from the British, such as denying jobs and seats in educations institutes to Tamils. Rajiv Gandhi tried to broker a peace agreement in the 1980s, but it backfired, with Christian suicide bomber Thenmozhi Rajaratnam taking his life in 1991.
The following news article mentions that Pirapaharan (Velupillai Prabhakaran) was a lapsed Methodist Christian.

1989 Temple of the Tooth attack is an attack on the Temple of the Tooth Relic, located in Kandy, Sri Lanka. The shrine, which is considered to be important to the Buddhists in Sri Lanka, houses the relic of the tooth of the Buddha, and is a UNESCOdesignated World Heritage Site.[1][2][3] It was attacked on 8 February 1989, allegedly by the armed cadres affiliated to Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna(JVP), a Marxist-Leninist Communist political party in Sri Lanka.[4][5][6]Background
In the late 1980s, the country was under a tense situation with two insurgencies ravaging Northern and Southern parts of Sri Lanka.[7] First insurgency was initiated by Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) and several Tamil militant groups in 1983, seeking to create an independent Tamil state in Northern and Eastern parts of the country.[8] In 1987, neighboring India intervened in the conflict to bring an end to the fighting between the insurgents and the Sri Lankan armed forces. That year, the Indo-Sri Lanka Accord was signed between the two countries and Indian Peace Keeping Force was deployed in Northern Sri Lanka to enforce disarmament of militant organizations and to watch over the regional council.[9]

The ” Christian fundamental precepts” the Cardinal had presented to the LLRC are not divine revelations. When the Buddha spoke of them in his discourses 2600 years ago they were revolutionary thoughts to an ancient Indian society following a strict Vedic and Hindu caste system, under a feared Monarchy.
a) (fidelity to ) the truth ( sacca)
b) respectful to the human dignity (karuna)
c) the equality of all human beings (metta)
d) well being and development of all segments of society (sabbe satta bhavantusukhitatta),
e) good Governance (dhammappasasana)
The Cradinals “fundamental precepts” were condensed by the Great Buddha into:
“By birth is not one an outcaste,
By birth is not one a brahmin.
By deeds is one an outcaste,
By deeds is one a brahmin “
In Sri Lanka these Buddhist principles were observed by the Sinhala Buddhists. The observance of these principles called “fundamental precepts” by the Cardinal, were neither charity nor maitriya as the Cardinal had emphasised. It was the part of the culture of the people. In a country where a majority was Sinhala and Buddhist, there was lot of tolerance towards foreign religions introduced by the Colonialists, respect to all beings irrespective of their , cast, colour religion, and respect to all living creatures.
The Cardinal does not understand the culture of the Sinhala people, he is brain washed to believe in a God, to extend the God’s love only to the human beings. The Sinhala Buddhists are different , they need not be told of maitriya- the love that comes from within them which they extend to all living beings.
